Restructuring: Reorientation of mindset, fundamental for national growth – Ololo | IMO STATE GOVERNMENT

Imo State Deputy Chief of Staff on Domestics and Chairman, Food Security, Hon. Mrs Ogechi Ololo has identified reorientation of mindset as fundamental for the growth of the nation.
Ololo was delivering a keynote address weekend, at the Ohaneze Youth Summit held in Owerri, Imo State capital.
Speaking on the topic: “Youths and the Restructuring of the Federal System of Nigeria: Expository Factors for the Igbo Nation”, Ololo urged Igbo youths to pay less attention to what she described as ‘political restructuring’ and focus more on how to reorientate their mindsets, adding that such would guarantee a better understanding of how best to restructure the country.
“I believe that the restructuring we should be talking about is the restructuring of our minds. Once it is done, we will be able to achieve many other things”, she said.
The Deputy Chief of Staff also emphasized on the need for youths to be united.
“Youths have been given opportunity in this generation to make a difference. I am not looking upto our leaders to make any difference. I believe that if youths come together and speak with one voice, our leaders will hear us.”
On his part, Prof. Chinedu Nwajiuba of FUNAI, Ebonyi State who was the Guest Speaker, did not hide his ill feelings over the level of unseriousness by many Igbo elites who should ordinarily champion the course of the tribe.
The university don made a call that all should reflect deeply on the recent statement made by General Yakubu Gowon on the Aburi accord and learn from it: “We did not go with any prepared position on the federal side, but Ojukwu came with a paper he prepared. His prepared position was on a pink paper. Usually, pink paper at the staff college is directing staff solution to the problem.”
Earlier, the State Youth Leader of Ohaneze, Kingsley Egbechue noted that every Igbo by birth is a member of Ohaneze and enjoined all to embrace the group as their own.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were some members of the National Executive Council of Ohaneze including the President General, Chief John Nnia Nwodo and Chief Reuben Okoro, Former Vice Chairman and Legal Adviser of Ohaneze who chaired the occasion.
