Food Security: Ololo flags off ‘Back To Land’ Programme, soon | IMO STATE GOVERNMENT

…Says Imo communities will benefit largely from FG
Imo State Chairman of Food Security and Deputy Chief of Staff, Domestics, Hon. Mrs Ogechi Ololo has assured of her readiness to engage indigenes of various autonomous communities in agriculture.
This is even as she disclosed that she would flag off a programme termed ‘Back To Land’ to enable her realize her set goals. 
Ololo was speaking yesterday in her office during an interaction with the Programme Manager of Agricultural Development Programme, ADP, Pastor A.E Jonathan and some officials from Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk-Sharing System in Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) led by Mrs. Nkechi Osuji – Head, Project Monitoring and Remediation.
Ololo stressed on the huge profits in agriculture and prayed for maximum cooperation from Imo citizens when she begins a tour of their various communities.
According to the Chairman, all that is needed is for each community to donate atleast 10 hectares of their land for the project and the federal government through her effort, would come to clear and prepare the land for the next farming season. “Seedlings, fertilizers will be provided for the farmers free of charge and family members will be part of the management team to douse any doubts about fraud”, she added.
Ololo said, a Food Security Office is already underway, as such would make it easy for any interested community to schedule a meeting before the programme commences in that community.
The Chairman also harped on the need to create farmers market for easy off-taking of farm produce and price control. She gave an instance where those that produce cat fish, find it difficult to sell because there is no central market for that. She assured of her eagerness to addressing the situation by creating as much farmers market as she could.
In her brief remark, Mrs Nkechi Osuji of NIRSAL said, “Thank God we have you. You are a very focus person, you are very accommodating and you have listening ears. With you and God on our side, we will achieve all these.”
