Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha last Tuesday hosted the people of the oil rich community at his palatial home along Spibat Area of Owerri with a promise to provide the people with more dividends of democracy before his tenure elapses.
The large delegation was led by the pioneer Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Ogbuagu Engineer Ernest Nwapa and the Member representing Oguta in the State House of Assembly, Hon Henry Ezediaro.
In his address at the occasion, Nwapa pledged the unflinching support of his people to the present administration in the state. While lauding the giant strides made by the governor, he pleaded with him to intervene in the Osemotor crisis and urged the governor to accommodate more sons and daughters of the community in his administration.
Responding, Okorocha affirmed his love for Oguta community and admonished the people to live in peace with their neigbouring communities. He revealed plans by the administration to improve infrastructural facilities in the area and upgrade its status as a model city.
High point of the visit was the presentation of a cow by the Ogana of Oguta who represented the traditional ruler of the community.
Dignitaries at the occasion were traditional title holders, captains of industry as well as notable politicians in the community.
