…As FG’s Monitoring/Evaluation Team storms Imo
The N-Power Focal Person in Imo State, Honourable Mrs. Ogechi Ololo has expressed determination to address the lapses militating against the smooth operation of the Federal Government’s Social Intervention Programme in the state.
Hon. Ololo indicated her willingness to ensure that challenges created by lack of proper communication and other fundamental issues from the federal to state government level were properly notified and addressed, when she led the Senior Special Adviser to President Mohammed Buhari on Job Creation/Youth Employment, Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede and members of his Monitoring/Evaluation Team to verify activities of the beneficiaries in the state.
Ololo who is also the Deputy Chief of Staff Domestic and Chairman Task Force on Food Security to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, observed that if instructions were properly conveyed from the beginning, it could have created a clearer picture of proper things to do and Imo State would have been a perfect example.
Speaking further, Ololo pleaded that more of Imo citizens should be accommodated on the scheme especially in the ongoing second phase registration of the programme.
Earlier, the SSA to the President on Job Creation/Youth Employment, Afolabi Imoukhuede who also coordinates the N-Power program, had at different deployed places of assignment, cautioned the beneficiaries to shun truancy, stating that indolent workers will be shown the way out.
He sounded it loud and clear that their salary was not a share of the national cake and stressed the need for them to be diligent and show commitment to duty as the job is a platform to help them garner work experience and expose them to greater opportunities in life.
Deployed places of assignment visited were; Government Secondary School Owerri, Songhai Farm Nekede and Imo State Emergency Response Centre.
Those in company of the Monitoring Team were the state institutional partners; Programme Manager ADP Pastor A.E Jonathan, Director General National Orientation Agency Vitus Ekeocha, Executive Chairman Imo State Universal Basic Education Board Mrs Elizabeth Ejiogu, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources Dr. Mrs Chima Irene, Permanent Secretary, Education COE Chukwu, Permanent Secretary, Health Dr. Igwe A.O and others.
