Governor Rochas Okorocha has said that the Country is waxing strong inspite of certain Challenges, and noted that with the sound policies of the current administration, such challenges will soon be things of the past.

The governor said, this is not the period or time to discuss the country’s shortcomings but a time to discuss the successes of the Country at 57 and what must be done to move the nation forward.

He remarked that all that the nation needs to persevere at the moment is unity of purpose among Nigerians.

He said, “In Imo State, we have tried to contribute our quota by providing the much needed dividends of democracy in all we have promised our great people of Imo State. It is a fact that today Imo state has witnessed unprecedented level of development in all dimensions. Worthy to mention is the free education at all levels from primary, secondary to University in this State. Our landscape has changed for good and our city looking better for it”.

Governor Okorocha further stated that though we are not there yet, but we are laying the basic foundation upon which other subsequent governments must build on, and enjoined Nigerians to pray for the nation and her leaders especially for President Muhammadu Buhari.

The governor explained that today’s leaders will soon hand over the nation to the younger ones and where they have failed as their parents, the younger ones cannot afford to fail, but must stand firm not to repeat the mistakes of their fathers, adding that Nigeria is on the path of greatness.

No room for hate speech, disintegration as Northern Governors storm Imo for peace

A delegation of Northern Governors of Nigeria have stormed Imo State under the leadership of the chairman of Northern Governors Forum, His Excellency Governor Kasim Shetima of Boronu State on a peace mission orchestrated to quickly arrest obvious tension and crises created by the activities of secession group, Independent People of Biafra, IPOB.
Welcoming the governors from the North, Imo State Governor Owelle Anayo Okorocha, who spoke at the Government House Owerri, described
them as brothers and members of one family who came in search of peace.
His words: `I think Nigeria is passing through difficult time, we must see it as a trial moment that will bring us triumph. Your visit is a reminder to all of us that we are one blood and one flesh, despite the activities of those who have offered themselves to be used as instruments in the hands of the devil`. He maintained that peace is so too expensive and must be pursued by all men at all cost, adding that he respects those who are so powerful and determined to pursue peace without considering the price or sacrifices they need to make.

The leader of the delegation and chairman of Northern Governors Forum, Shetima, expressed satisfaction at the quality of leadership exhibited by Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and the peaceful atmosphere he created in the state, saying; `he is a quintessential Nigerian and we are proud of him`.
