Encomiums as Imo Gov launches Emergency Rescue Health Centre

Commendations have trailed the commissioning of a 24-hour emergency response centre by Imo state government. The center is aimed at delivering quality healthcare to the people of the state.
Speaking at the commissioning, Governor Rochas Okorocha explained that the gesture by the state government was to address the deficiencies in the health sector.
He added that it would also cater for the tough challenges faced by people with petty and immediate health issues before being referred to a bigger hospital for treatment.
The Governor enjoined the people of the state to take advantage of the newly commissioned facility.
He noted that his administration was committed to delivering quality and qualitative healthcare to the people of the state, saying it has been demonstrated in the building of 27 general hospitals across the state and the ‘health at your door step initiative’.
Earlier in her address, the state’s Commissioner for Health, Ngozi Njoku, revealed that the centre, which is located in the heart of Owerri, has state-of-the-art medical facilities that can cater for immediate health challenges.
She said it also has a 24-hour rapid response telephone services and stationed ambulances to help discharge its primary duties as stipulated.
The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, who was a special guest at the event, commended the Imo State government for the development.
Professor Adewole described it as a laudable gesture that would add value to the healthcare delivery system in the state.

APC BEGINS MASSIVE MEMBERSHIP DRIVE IN IMO STATE

All Progressives Congress,( APC) has set every machinery in motion for massive membership drive in Imo State.

Imo State Governor Owelle Anayo Okorocha, disclosed the determination of the leadership of the party in the state to canvass and convert as many people as possible into its camp, during a meeting with the party members and members of State Development Council, held at Sam Mbakwe Executive Chambers ,Government House Owerri.

The state governor passionately appealed to his fellow Igbos and other ethnic nationalities resident in the state to endeavor to register in large numbers with the APC, during its ongoing nationwide registration of members.

Owelle Okorocha, explained that APC in Imo State is targeting to register  not less than One Million people into its fold, so as to strengthen the party and consolidate the support base of the APC  led federal government in Nigeria.

According to the governor, there is wisdom in joining APC which is the ruling party, he urged all Imo indigenes and by extension Igbos to join APC so that they can continue to attract dividends of democracy to their people.

Imo State Governor who is the also the Chairman of APC Governors` Forum, seized the opportunity to commend former Senate President Chief Ken Nnamani  and former Minister Chief Jim Nwobodo for their decision to defect from Peoples Democratic Party to All Progressives Congress.
