Men of the Nigerian Police Force through an intelligent and well-coordinated operation  have gunned down a notorious and most wanted kidnapper,  Henry Chibueze, also known as Vampire.

Briefing newsmen at the Imo State Headquarter of the Nigerian Police, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPPRO), CSP Jimoh Moshood said, after Henry Chibueze was killed, five suspected members of his gang were arrested and cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from them.

Late Chibueze was killed in Omu Awa Forest, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State by the Police Special Forces, led by the Inspector General’s Intelligence Response Team.

The Police Special Forces working under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Police Command swooped on the hideout of Henry Chibueze, aka ‘Vampire’ and his gang and engaged them in a fierce gun battle that lasted several hours.

Few of the suspects arrested in connection with serial killings and kidnap activities of late Vampire are; Obinna Elah ‘male’ 26yrs, native of Orlu LGA Imo State; second in command of the kidnap gang, Arinze Abecheta ‘male’ 24yrs, native of Okohia, Isiala Mbano LGA. Imo State, Chukwuebuka Ikeazota ‘male’ 23yrs, native of Okohia, Isiala Mbano LGA Imo State. Samuel Ugochukwu ‘male’ 24yrs, native of Arochukwu LGA Abia State, Clifford Aheana ‘male’ of Omu Awa Ikwerre LGA Rivers State.

Some of the exhibits recovered from them were, Five (5) AK 47 rifles, three hundred rounds of AK 47 ammunition and charm recovered from the body of the deceased leader of the gang.

According to security reports, the gang had been responsible for so many kidnappings and robbery attacks in Imo, Abia, Rivers, Delta and other states in the South-East and South-South.

The Force spokesman explained that members of the gang arrested during the operation will be charged to court on completion of investigation.
