CHIEF (MRS) JOSEPHINE UDOJI

 

Hon. Chief (Mrs) Josephine Udoji hails from Ikpa Uzuakoli, Urualla in Ideato North LGA of Imo State in Orlu Senatorial Zone of Nigeria.

She is successfully married to Chief Peter O. Udoji and the union is blessed with seven children. Chief Mrs Udoji is a Christian and belongs to the Catholic Women Organization of Nigeria (C.W.O).

Chief (Mrs.) Udoji has been a two-time Commissioner of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission. She is a great grassroot woman mobilizer, and that earned her the positions of the former PDP State Women Leader, the Director General Woman for Rochas (WOFORD) Southeast zone.

She has also served humanity in the State and Nigeria at large in different capacities such as the Chairman, Interim Management Committee Ideato North LGA, Member Imo State Universal Basic Education, Member Imo State Secondary Audit Committee, Member Imo State Committee on Delivery of Free Education.

Other positions she has held as an astute politician were; Transition Committee Member Ideato North LGA, Member Imo State Agric. Transitional Committee, Imo State Woman Leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Southeast zone, Director Imo State Water Development Agency (IWADA), Matron of Ideato North Students Union, President, Urualla Women Progressive Union. She was the PDP flag bearer for Imo State House of Assembly for Ideato North State Constituency in 1998.

Hon. Chief (Mrs) Udoji was a seasoned teacher who taught for 18 years before she resigned voluntarily. As a teacher, she contributed in impacting knowledge and consequently molded the lives of many children for a better society.

Based on her outstanding contributions in the area of politics and development of the state, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha (OON) the Grand Commander of Free and Qualitative Education, Senior Advocate of the Masses and the People’s Governor appointed and sworn her in, as the Hon. Commissioner for Works and Transport.

The Hon. Commissioner is a recipient of several awards and chieftaincy titles to include:

  • Ada Kwesiri 1 of Ndimo, Anambra State
